The purpose of this fellowship is to provide support and guidance for minority students as they pursue STEM degrees, with a major focus on students in Oakwood University dual degree program. This fellowship creates a learning community that will improve students academic experience and ensure success in their professional career.
One of the many challenges our students face is being able to pay for tuition and school supplies. The money we raise supports our students by providing scholarships and school supplies, and allow students to focus more on their education.
We host bi-weekly check-ins on our students. These check-ins are a safe space where students can talk about their challenges and share solutions. This also gives us the opportunity to listen to their needs and provide resources that students lack.
We connect students to STEM alumni and professionals. Providing students with mentors that can give valuable advice and guide them on their academic and professional careers.
The goal of this partnership is to inspire minority youth to pursue STEM careers. STEMcubator will provide our students with opportunities to mentor the youth and participate in the improvement of STEM education.
The goal of this partnership is to provide our students with real world experiences while improving their skillsets. This institute will give our students opportunities to solve community problems and improve their leadership skills while also providing access to workshops to improve skills and professional growth.
